cat litter

In the first part, I was invited around for drinks at the new unit one of the women in my course had moved into. When I arrived, I realised it was one of the units I had previously viewed but was knocked back because of the cats. She had it all decked out, I was inconsolably jealous.

Then there is a gap, but I was travelling back from somewhere with the cats and went back to the same unit (however it was still empty, from after I had viewed it). It was unlocked and I went in just to wash up some plates I had, I made a note that it was 12:45pm.

While I was in the kitchen I was thinking “heck, I shouldn’t stay long because the owner or the agent might come by and spring me”. You can see the real estate agent from the living room window of the unit, and I went to look and realised they would probably be closed after midday so it would be ok.

But then! The owner, her middle-aged daughter and the agent all came in and found me!

I begged with them not to call the police, I was in such a panic. I started to say to them that if only they had been reasonable and let me stay they would have had revenue for the past month instead of an empty unit. While I was trying to say how my cats were great and clean and would cause no damage, poor José was about to wee in my slippers because I didn’t have a litter tray. I had to scoop him up and hold him over the toilet.

Then somehow the unit turned into an office, the cubicles sort of looked like stalls at an expo and I was assigned a cubicle and had to wait until the end of the day to find out my fate while I repeated tried to track down the owner of the unit.
